Youth Hockey Classes
Lightning Made Hockey
8 weeks of introductory instruction for ages 4–10 with zero prior hockey experience. A full set of protective equipment — helmet, pads, gloves, skates, stick, jersey — is included and yours to keep.
Axel’s Hockey School
An ongoing, month-to-month development program for players with basic skating skills. Weekly instruction, skill-based levels, and two free Stick & Puck sessions per month included

Adult Hockey Skills
Adult Hockey Skills (Learn to Play)
No hockey experience needed, but players should already have basic skating skills. Each Monday night combines a 45-minute skills clinic with a 30-minute scrimmage to put those skills into game play. Open to all levels, from first-timers to advanced players looking to sharpen their game.

Stick & Puck
Open, unstructured ice time to work on your own shooting, stickhandling, and conditioning — no drills, no games, just ice time. A great fit between league nights or as extra practice for Axel’s Hockey School players (Axel’s Hockey School players even get 2 sessions/month included free with enrollment).

No. Lightning Made Hockey (ages 4–10) and Adult Hockey Skills are both built for players with zero prior hockey experience. Basic skating ability helps but isn’t required to begin.
Lightning Made Hockey accepts players starting at age 4. There’s no upper age limit for adult programs and leagues.
Only for Lightning Made Hockey — a full set of protective equipment is included and yours to keep. Axel’s Hockey School, Adult Hockey Skills, and league play all require players to bring their own gear. We recommend our retail partner Pure Hockey for your hockey equipment needs.
Yes, for Axel’s Hockey School, youth leagues, adult leagues, and stick and puck sessions. USA Hockey membership renews annually on September 1.
Learn to Play programs (Lightning Made, Adult Hockey Skills, Axel’s Hockey School) build fundamental skills in a structured class format. Leagues are organized game play for players who already have basic hockey skills and want regular competitive games.
Yes. Adult Hockey Skills is designed specifically for adult beginners in a supportive, no-pressure group setting. Along with our Adult Skating School classes, we offer the ability to learn to skate and to play the sport from zero previous experience.

Stick and Puck sessions are open, low-commitment ice time and a good way to get a feel for the game before enrolling in a structured program.
